Oliver Stone goes south of the border and brings to light a change that is underway in South America, which has happened while the rest of world's attention is somewhere else. Oliver Stone sets out on a road trip across five countries to explore and uncover the cultural movements, as well as dispel mainstream media's misperception of South America while interviewing seven of its elected presidents. In casual conversations with Presidents Hugo Chávez (Venezuela), Evo Morales (Bolivia), Lula da Silva (Brazil), Cristina Kirchner (Argentina), as well as her husband and ex-President Néstor Kirchner, Fernando Lugo (Paraguay), Rafael Correa (Ecuador), and Raúl Castro (Cuba), Stone gains unprecedented access and documents the social and political movement taking over the region. The film allows moviegoers to look at what's happening in the continent without the interference of the United States media filter and leaves it up to you whether its process or not. There is an underlying distrust of the U.S.A, which in turn fuels the desire to break free from the economic imperialism of America. South of the Border opens June 25 in NYC, with engagements following in Los Angeles, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, and additional markets. The film is unrated with a total running time of 78 minutes.
