On The Move - Step to the rear, Tiffany Martinez is on arrival!
The boogie-down once again gives birth
to new talent. Still, Tiffany Martinez is not
just an around-the-way girl hailing from
The Bronx, NY. This 5-foot-1 bombshell
proves that big things do come in small
packages. From the studio to concerts,
the pint-sized siren’s powerful vocals
leave audiences wanting more. ULM had
the chance to sit down with the new face
of R&B to talk about her debut, the origins
of her passion for music and the steps she
took to be rated next.
Tiffany Martinez is sicker than your average
teenager. At 17, the young Latina
already has a growing fan base. During
our conversation, when asked what she
wanted her fans to get from her forthcoming
debut, her Father/manager or as
how she likes to call him, her “Dadager,”
quickly replied, “Damn that girl can sing!”
Tiffany reaffirms her proud Father’s boast
by stating, “I want my fans to relate to
my music,” the Puerto Rican-Dominican
beauty explains. “It could be the album,
a song, or even a verse. But, if I have my
listeners take a fragment of my music and
have that reflect in their lives, then I have
done my job.”
As a child, Tiffany would always prance
around, performing “singing drive-by’s,”
and voicing her talent to anyone that was
around. Singing tunes from Michael Jackson
to classic Disney movies, the songbird
was destined for a career in music.
With music always playing throughout her
home, Tiffany’s father’s enriched musical
background of deejaying and promotions,
contributed to the development of his
daughter’s career
Tiffany’s first big break came with a lead
role in her high school play, Cinderella. “When I was auditioning for the lead role
of Cinderella, usually the lead roles were
given to experienced juniors and seniors,”
she reveals. “Me being a sophomore at the
time, I thought all the odds were stacked
against me! I managed to get the part, and
was scouted by one of the audience members
in attendance.”
Tiffany became a member of the Heightz,
a Latina group combined with singers and
rappers. In a matter of six months the
group managed to audition for Sony’s Epic
Records, Casablanca and Lou Pearlman,
but an unfortunate twist led to the group
being disbanded. Despite the group’s demise,
this only fueled Tiffany to pursue her
dream with increased vigor.
Joining Emerging Artist USA – a promotional company that represents singers, songwriters and producers – Tiffany took her show on the road, performing from New York to Florida, and Puerto Rico. With her self-titled independent debut slated for next year, the bi-lingual songstress passion and determination for music, exemplifies her Bronx hustler ambition. Armed with a winning mentality, Tiffany Martinez is here to stay!
